Week of 11/26-11/30

This week Jaiden left us as his family is moving out of state. We created cards for him and wish him the best at his new school!

In math we continued to explore more and less. In this activity we demonstrated an understanding of one less.

Each month we focus on a life skill. We got a jump start on December by discussing the new life skill: Cooperation. We talked about what it means to cooperate and wrote about a time we cooperated.

Thanksgiving

In preparation for Thanksgiving we wrote what we were thankful for on the feathers of this big turkey. Popular answer: Mom, but also family, dads, brothers, sisters, teachers, teddy bears, pets, etc.

We made books about the story of the first Thanksgiving and the art on the books was adorable and unique.

On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving we were very busy. We started by chopping the apples for our homemade applesauce. Thank you to Tyz'Juan's family for providing apples. We crafted place mats and Pilgrim headwear. Then we sat down for a feast dressed like Pilgrims. We all went around to share what we were thankful for. We finished the feast with some yummy pumpkin pie and our homemade applesauce.

Dress for Success

As part of Violence and Vandalism prevention week, we dressed in our sweats, jeans, crazy socks and then finally we dressed for success. Thank you to everyone who participated especially those who were able to donate to our dress down fundraiser.

Halloween

We celebrated Halloween a little late this year due to the storm but here are some pictures of the Halloween fun. We marched in a costume parade, made some Halloween crafts, and made edible spiders!
