Week in Review 3/18-3/21 Spring/Easter Activties

Sorry that I'm posting this a bit late. We had a ton of fun last week. It would not have been possible without the super generous support of our parents. Thank you so much to everyone who donated supplies!

We dyed eggs after drawing designs on them. Unfortunately we forgot to send them home.

We made bunny ears and decorated Easter baskets so we would be ready for the hunt.

On Thursday we had a surprise in our Easter basket including a brand new book (perfect for our spring break packet!)

We worked on sorting and graphing jellybeans.

Then the moment we had all been waiting for.. the egg hunt! It was a bit chilly but we put on our coats and bunny ears and were so happy to be running around the field instead of bumping into each other in the classroom.

Each child found 7 eggs with their name and after reading a sentence or doing a math problem found in the egg they got a candy reward!

Thanks again to all the parents for helping to make this such a fun and special week!

Week in Review 3/11-3/15 St. Patrick's Day

This week we were lucky to receive a lot of fruit from the cafeteria for snack.

On Thursday we made leprechaun traps and set them with some lucky charms as bait.

But on Friday morning we discovered they didn't work. The leprechaun had busted out but at least he left us a cookie.

He also left some tracks in our room.

So we were determined to hunt him down.

When we got back to our room we found his hat but no leprechaun.

We each got to keep a few pieces of his gold.

Then to finish off our fun day we graphed some lucky charms.

Week in Review 3/4-3/8 Dr. Seuss Week

In Writer's Workshop we completed our rough draft of our author study. We each chose our favorite Mo Willems book and are writing about it extensively. We have written about the plot, characters, our favorite part, our text to self connection and our recommendation.

We also celebrated Dr. Seuss this week since his birthday was on March 2nd. Here you can see a short video of our Lorax mustaches.

We tried green eggs and ham and everyone liked it!

To finish up or Dr. Seuss week we made Cat in the Hat hats.

In math we discussed preference and sequence. Here Jeida is recording her preference on a chart.

Week in Review 2/25 - 3/1

In writer's workshop we have been writing about our text to self connections.

We earned a special snack from Coach Crutch for doing so well at recess. We had fruit roll ups with tongue tattoos.

Then we played musical chairs with Coach Crutch during Playworks.

On Thursday we had our Black History Month performance.

Each week we try to think of words that begin with our letter of the week and we practice our sound spelling. This week we were working on blends.

On Friday we got our very own copies of the Mo Willems inspired book we wrote, "Don't Let the Pigeon Come to Kindergarten." Be sure to ask your child to read you their copy.
